Registration, Paperwork, and Payments for the 2026-27 Stevenson Marching Band:

Registration to begin in late winter / early spring 2026

There are 7 steps to complete in order to be fully registered and cleared to participate in Marching Band, including attending away camp. 

1. Completion of online registration form
2. Payment of a non-refundable deposit (goes toward the full fee).
3. Order and purchase marching shoes (new members and those wanting replacements - color guard does not buy these particular shoes)
4. Download and read the Marching Band Handbook, then submit the Marching Band Contract online
5. Complete and return the Member Medical Information Form
6. Complete full payment marching band fee.
7. Obtain a sports physical, then upload the completed MHSAA Physical form to Big Teams, with all sections filled out

 

Step 1: Complete and submit online Registration Form - Due TBA 2026

Required. To be completed by all prospective Marching Band members:

• Reserves your theme T-shirt
• Identifies instrumentation for drill
• Secures your spot in the marching drill / front line position
• Collects contact info should there be an urgent communication need
• To be completed by a parent/guardian

Step 2: Pay $150 non-refundable deposit - Due TBA 2026

Step 3: Order and purchase marching shoes - Due TBA 2026

• All Marching Band members, except Colorguard, are REQUIRED to own marching shoes:

• Purchased through the band (only):
• Marching Band Shoes (cost: TBA)
• Returning members can use last year's shoes (check to see if they still fit)

• In addition, all Marching Band members, including Colorguard, must own a pair of white shorts that are worn as part of a summer uniform. These shorts are purchased on your own (the sooner, the better!).

• Requirements for summer uniform white shorts:
• No stripes – must be solid white
• No athletic-style shorts (no elastic waistbands)
• Clean / professional appearance (no rips, stains, minimal wrinkling)
• Mid-thigh length or longer
• Comfortable fit / do not hinder ability to march

• Suggestions for Summer Uniform White Shorts:
• Flat khaki-style strongly preferred over cargo-style (minimal pockets)
• Shop early! White shorts are harder to find in July & August vs. spring and early summer
• Online stores may have a better selection

 

Step 4: Read the Marching Band Handbook, then complete and return the Marching Band contract online - Due TBA 2026

Step 5: Complete and submit the Member Medical Information Form online - Due TBA 2026

Required. To be completed by all Marching Band members:

• Provides essential information about your student to assist those caring for them during camp weeks
• Assists with camp logistics and preparation
• For safety and accuracy, to be completed by a parent/guardian please

Step 6: Complete full payment of Marching Band fee - Due TBA 2026

Required. To be completed by all Marching Band members:

• Covers the cost of home and away camps
• Helps offset costs of instructors, purchase of show music, and other items for the season that support all marching band students
• Includes Theme T-Shirt (all members) and white performance gloves (certain sections)

Step 7: Completion/upload of sports physical using MHSAA physical form to BigTeams - Due TBA 2026

Required. To be completed by all Marching Band members:

Mandatory current-year physicals are a UCS rule for the safety of all members of the Marching Band and must be completed and uploaded to Big Teams prior to the beginning of all camps (home and away). This rule applies to all UCS marching bands, summer camps, and athletic-related activities (note: all physicals must have been completed on or after April 15th, 2026).

Receiving Physical Education Flex Credit for completing 2 full seasons of Marching Band: A student may be able to waive the graduation requirement of 1/2 credit of Physical Education (gym class) following the completion of two seasons of Marching Band between 9th and 12th grades. In addition to 100% participation, the proper paperwork must be completed, signed by the band director, and returned to the counseling department to complete eligibility.
