Info for Band & Orchestra Festival 2020

Stevenson Band students will be participating in MSBOA Band & Orchestra Festival again this year. This is a mandatory activity for all students in Mr. Sekich's Symphonic Band (2nd Hour), Wind Ensemble (3rd Hour), and Concert Band (5th Hour) classes.

Date: Saturday, March 7th

Location: Warren Woods Tower High School (students will meet at SHS and be bused to WW Tower)
27900 Bunert Rd, Warren, MI 48088. Note: Bus transportation for students is TO Warren Woods Tower ONLY! All students must be driven home.

Parents: Admission to Band & Orchestra is free. Please wear Stevenson Band apparel and support your students by filling the auditorium and being enthusiastic fans!

All students must have a permission slip submitted for them online by a parent (due 3/5): www.stevensonbands.org/signpermissionslip

Important! Mr. Sekich will travel on the buses with Concert/Symphonic band. Parent chaperones will be needed to let Wind Ensemble students in the band room and ride the buses with that group to WW Tower. Chaperones will need to coordinate a ride home.

Timeline for Concert & Symphonic Band, 9:00am – approximately 12:45pm:

  • Eat a good breakfast at home prior to leaving for SHS
  • 9:00 AM: Call Time at Stevenson, begin loading truck
  • 9:20 AM: Finish Loading Truck (percussion)
  • 9:30 AM: Departure for Warren Woods Tower
  • 9:50 AM: Arrival at WWT, place coats, cases, etc in our staging room
  • 9:50 AM: Percussion and parents: unload truck
  • 10:50 AM: Concert/Symphonic Band Warm-up
  • 11:20 AM: Concert/Symphonic Band Performance (auditorium)
  • 11:45 AM: Concert/Symphonic Band Sight Reading
  • After sight reading: Empty our staging room of your belongings, then wait together in cafeteria for scores to be posted

After scores are posted, Concert Band members are free to either go home with their families or remain at Warren Woods Tower to watch and support Wind Ensemble. Everyone is encouraged to support the WWT Band Boosters by purchasing lunch or snacks while waiting for scores to post.


Timeline for Wind Ensemble, 12:15pm – approximately 4:00pm:

  • Eat a good breakfast & lunch at home prior to leaving for SHS
  • 12:15 PM: Call Time at Stevenson
  • 12:50 PM: Departure for Warren Woods Tower
  • 1:10 PM: Arrival at WWT, place coats, cases, etc in our staging room
  • 2:10 PM: Wind Ensemble Warm-up
  • 2:40 PM: Wind Ensemble Performance (auditorium)
  • 3:05 PM: Wind Ensemble Sight Reading
  • After sight reading: Empty our staging room of your belongings, then wait together in cafeteria for scores to be posted

After scores are posted, everyone is dismissed from WWT. Percussion, parents, and anyone else that would like to help: Report back to Stevenson to unload the truck (many hands make light work).
